The Scrambler 400X costs Rs 30,000 more than the Speed 400.
Triumph has announced the launch of the Scrambler 400X in India. The bike is priced at Rs 2,62,996 (ex-showroom), Rs 30,000 more than the Speed 400.
The Triumph Scrambler 400X was unveiled alongside the Speed 400 in June this year. Both bikes share the same platform. While the Speed 400 is a roadster, the Scrambler 400X has a more rugged look.
The Scrambler 400X has a 2-piece seat set at 835 mm compared to 790 mm on the Speed 400, longer suspension travel, wide handlebars with knuckle guards and a 19-inch front wheel shod with dual-purpose tyres.
The Scrambler 400X also has a slightly longer wheelbase compared to the roadster and weighs 9 kg more than the 170 kg Speed 400. The bike also gets a larger 320 mm brake disc at the front.
The Scrambler 400X is powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 39.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a torque-assist clutch.
The bike is equipped with an analogue instrument console with a small LCD screen, a USB charging port, ride-by-wire and dual-channel ABS.
