The inaugural F1 Indian Grand Prix was held in 2011.
The Buddh International Circuit (BIC) recently hosted MotoGP for the first time. Efforts are now on to bring back Formula 1 to India.
According to a media report, Arun Vir Singh, CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), revealed that talks were on to reintroduce Formula 1 at BIC in 2025.
It is said that discussions with the organizers are likely to take place soon. Singh also stated that it would be a “significant achievement” if both MotoGP and F1 were held at BIC annually.
The inaugural F1 Indian Grand Prix was held in 2011. The Indian GP was included in the 2012 and 2013 seasons as well. The F1 circus was expected to return to India in 2015 but was cancelled following tax disputes between the FIA and the Uttar Pradesh government.
