‘I’m a car expert – if you hold down a button it unlocks hidden features’

A social media influencer has revealed a handy function on her electric vehicle that many drivers were not aware of.

Lisa, who goes by the name @CarbonizedHorse on TikTok, regularly posts short videos about her Ford Mustang Mach-E.

In one of her most popular videos, Lisa explains an interesting feature that can be activated by holding down a commonly used button.

She said: “When you push in the button for a few seconds in does the Coms Screen mode, but did you know that it also controls the temperature inside the car?

“Not only is it a volume button, but since I received the over the updates, it also controls this, which is my favourite feature. It’s my bun-warmer!”

In the video, Lisa gets into her car and demonstrates that the large rotary dial, typically used to control the volume for the radio, features a small screen inside a button.

If the button is held down for two seconds, the dial’s function can be changed to control the temperature of the fans or the heated front seats.

Drivers can also switch between the functions by pressing the small seat, steering wheel and fan icons at the bottom left of the touchscreen.

All three of these functions can also be controlled by different menus on the touchscreen, but using the dial can be beneficial.

Using different menus to control the features of the car can often mean that the motorist has to look away from the road, increasing the potential of a crash.

Whilst Lisa noted that the Ford Mustang Mach-E has a good reputation for safety, the ability to control functions with a simple dial is incredibly important.

Launched in November 2019, the Ford Mustang Mach E is the first electric model to bear the famous name.

Whilst not completely replacing the legacy of the famous sports coupe, commonly called the ‘Pony Car’, it can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 3.8 seconds.

In addition, the Mustang Mach-E features BlueCruise, a semi-autonomous driving system that motorists can subscribe to for an additional fee.
