Earlier this week, Renault’s sister brand Dacia, unveiled the third-generation Duster SUV. It is expected to be launched in India in 2025 and will be offered in 5-seat and 7-seat configurations.

The third-generation Duster is based on the CMF-B platform. At 4.34 meters long, it is slightly longer than the outgoing model. The 7-seat version will come with three rows of seats, but its exact dimensions are unknown.

The new Duster borrows design cues from the Bigster concept. It features Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and Y-shaped taillights, chunky fenders with squared-off wheel arches and rugged cladding all around. Inside, the SUV gets an all-new dashboard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen that’s angled towards the driver, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

The new Duster also comes with an ADAS suite, which includes safety features like automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition with speeding alert, rear parking assistant, lane change warning and assist, and pedestrian detection, along with vehicle, cyclist and motorcycle detection.

The Duster is available with three engine options. These include a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol paired with a mild-hybrid system, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo bi-fuel engine and a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid that comes with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery pack. It is offered in front-wheel drive and 4×4 configurations.
