The Delhi government has imposed a ban on buses entering Delhi under GRAP-IV restrictions. Only buses running on CNG, electric and BS6 diesel will be allowed to ply on the streets of the national capital.<\/p>\n
Diesel-powered medium and heavy goods vehicles have also been prohibited under the revised restrictions. Vehicles transporting essential goods and services though will be exempt from this rule.<\/p>\n
According to a government official, 40 enforcement teams have been deployed in the border areas from 8 pm to 4 am. Teams are also checking overloaded trucks, interstate buses, and pollution certificates, while also monitoring congestion.<\/p>\n
The transport department is issuing challans for violating pollution norms, which includes a fine of Rs 10,000. As per reports, 28,471 fines have been issued against vehicles under GRAP-I, II and III already.<\/p>\n
