My endeavour is to revive\/restore it to its brand new stock-like glory &amp; DIY wherever possible.<\/p>\n<p>I have started working on it &amp; have done the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Replaced the Battery, Engine Oil &amp; Oil Filter<\/li>\n<li>Cleaned the Carburettor<\/li>\n<li>Cleaned the AIS(air induction system)<\/li>\n<li>Tappets adjusted<\/li>\n<li>Wheel Bearings cleaned &amp; lubed<\/li>\n<li>Replaced Choke cable<\/li>\n<li>Replaced Tyres<\/li>\n<li>Cleaned Starter motor<\/li>\n<li>Replaced Brake Pads<\/li>\n<li>Replaced some Cosmetic parts<\/li>\n<li>Replaced front Fork oil &amp; Seals<\/li>\n<li>Replaced front Brake Fluid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be done:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Swingarm Lubrication\/Inspection<\/li>\n<li>Replace Airfilter &amp; hose<\/li>\n<li>Replace Clutch &amp; Throttle Cable<\/li>\n<li>Replace Front Fork spring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since I&#8217;ll be using it for solo touring, what all other things I must repair\/replace\/lube, keeping the motorcycle&#8217;s age in mind, so that chances of breakdown are negated &amp; I can be at relative ease?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/b1_2.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.team-bhp.com\/sites\/default\/files\/pictures2023-09\/b2_3.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what <strong>BHPian aviator1101<\/strong> had to say on the matter:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Hello Sir, firstly nice bike u own and for a 13\/14 year old bike, it looks very well maintained.<\/p>\n<p>Since it&#8217;s already 13 years old, you may like to check the following parts also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Petrol tank (for rust)<\/li>\n<li>Fuel cock (as it starts leaking from here)<\/li>\n<li>Fuel pipeline (they harden and tend to crack)<\/li>\n<li>Spark plug (for condition and change if required).<\/li>\n<li>You have not mentioned any prior experience in touring, so I assume you are about to start from a scratch. Hence the undermentioned suggestion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For starting afresh, you need to focus on following things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Riding gear (complete gear all the time) including rain gear<\/li>\n<li>Luggage setup (saddlebags or hybrid tailbag + tank bag) depending upon itinerary. You may need to fabricate saddlestays if opting for saddlebags.<\/li>\n<li>Provision to carry spare fuel.<\/li>\n<li>Additional lights for bike (as per requirement)<\/li>\n<li>Mobile holder (for navigation)<\/li>\n<li>Tool kit (including chian cleaner, lubricant, inflator and tubeless puncture repair kit)<\/li>\n<li>Spares (as deemed necessary, consult the service centre or FNG.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hope this helps.<\/p>\n<p>Any other suggestion required, please feel free to communicate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>BHPian Mannvvs<\/strong> replied:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Thank you sir. I will add those points to my list.<\/p>\n<p>I have bought a riding jacket, gloves but helmet is due. I tried MT hummer size-M, felt too tight &amp; size-L acc. to the seller was not a right size for me(he could move the helmet up &amp; down while I was wearing it).
