Sebastian Vettel does not deny that he has made mistakes during the 2021 campaign, but sees a strong future for Aston Martin.
Following a disappointing final campaign in Ferrari red, Vettel made the move to Aston Martin for 2021, providing them with the proven experience of victory which they craved for their return.
As expected Vettel and Aston Martin have found themselves battling away in the midfield, and Vettel has not always delivered flawless drives.
Most recently in Turkey the four-time World Champion asked to pit for dry tyres, a call which left him slipping and sliding as he crawled back to the pits. He would finish that race P18.
So, Vettel is not about to deny that mistakes have crept into his driving this season, but he feels far better is to come for Aston Martin.

“I feel that we can improve,” he told Sport1 at the Turkish Grand Prix.
“I now feel more at home in the car and really enjoy it. We still have a few races to go and I feel that good things are about to happen.
“I’m not good when it comes to a few points only. Mistakes creep in.
“It looks different when I can drive for podiums or victories.”
Aston Martin ultimately have their sights set on becoming champions in Formula 1, but even with the opportunity of the new regulations for 2022, the Silverstone-based outfit have major pace to find if they wish to challenge at the front.
Vettel has scored Aston Martin’s only podium of the season with a P2 finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, but his 35 points, added to Lance Stroll’s 26, mean that Aston Martin sit P7 in the Constructors’ Championship, 31 adrift of AlphaTauri.
