Red Bull have announced that a new partnership has been formed between them and Mexican telecoms company América Móvil.
When Sergio Perez signed for Red Bull, many believed that a factor in their decision to sign him was the fact that he could bring some big sponsors with him, although owner Dietrich Mateschitz insisted that wasn’t the case.
“I don’t even know who he has,” said the Austrian billionaire.
“That was not a deciding factor. If he brings sponsors we welcome it because it’s not a payment for a seat, it’s a bonus for the team.”
Regardless, it has now been announced that one of the Mexican’s biggest sponsors has indeed followed him to his new team
“América Móvil have been a big supporter of Formula One and we’re very pleased to be able to continue that relationship here at Red Bull Racing,” said team principal Christian Horner in a statement.
“The passion and commitment the company brings to racing mirrors our own and we look forward to adding to the long tally of successes they’ve had on the global stage with all of their brands.
“We also look forward to racing with increased support in two of América Móvil’s heartland countries, Mexico and Brazil. We’ve missed the incredible atmosphere of those events and we can’t wait to return this season.”

WIth him finally in a top car, the company will be more excited than ever about his prospects heading into the 2021 campaign.
“It is with great satisfaction that we continue to support Sergio Perez and that we now do that with the Red Bull Racing Team,” Chief Marketing Officer Marcela Velasco said.
