Mechanically, the truck comes standard with the 4×4 Off-Road Group package. This includes parts like all-terrain tires, heavy-duty shocks, tow hooks, an electronic-locking rear axle, hill-descent control, and skid plates that guard the front suspension, steering parts, fuel tank, and transfer case.

Inside, the latest Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition has black upholstery with Light Diesel Gray accent stitching. There are also Black Onyx Chrome trim and all-weather rubber floor mats.

To fit the military theme, there are embroidered Velcro panels on the front seat and shoulder section for owners to display patches like regiments, flags, name tapes, or slogans. The seatback has Pouch Attachment Ladder System/Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment (PALS/MOLLE) webbing for easily attaching whatever an owner wants to carry.

Ram intends to build a total of five variants of the Built to Serve Edition. In the future, there will be a batch of 1,000 units in the color Tank and 1,000 in Flame Red. There will also be 500 in the shade Spitfire and 500 in Bright White.
