Deliveries of the BS6-compliant Jawa and Jawa Forty Two have begun. The bikes were launched in March this year with prices starting at Rs. 1.73 lakh and Rs. 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
Both the Jawa and Forty Two models are powered by an updated 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 26 BHP and 27 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
According to Classic Legends, this is the world’s first single-cylinder engine to feature a cross port configuration. It is claimed to improve the volumetric efficiency of the engine. It also features a newly positioned lambda sensor.
Classic Legends has also updated the seat cushioning. The company also claims to have reworked the gearshift for a more slicker experience.
