1986 Fujitsu Ten Audio System More Complicated than the Space Shuttle

In 1986, the audio system in my 1968 Mercury Cyclone consisted of a junkyard-obtained Kraco cassette deck in the glovebox, playing through two 6×9 speakers of unknown provenance in the package shelf. It wasn’t much, but audio-gear standards were low for broke college students in the middle 1980s, and at least I could (sort of) hear my mixtapes on long highway drives. High-end stuff of that era didn’t sound great by 2021 standards, but just look at this Fujitsu Ten rig from a 1986 magazine advertisement! $2,000 comes to about $4,750 in 2021 bucks, by the way.
