The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is all-new. And it kind of has to be considering the engine is no longer in the front of the car. But when the car was announced this week, Chevy said that there was one part that was carried over unchanged from the C7, but didn’t say what it was.
Have a guess? No? It’s the interior door latches.
The buttons that operate the latches aren’t the same, but it appears the latch itself is. Maybe carrying over that part is how the Corvette will cost less than $60,000?
Of course, Chevy could be playing a bit of a game here. While the engine has been updated to become the LT2, there are likely components within the engine that have stayed the same. It’s still impressive that GM was able to keep the price down while only carrying over one piece of the car.
