Volvo S60 T8 Twin Engine is one of the better looking PHEVs and it’s all-wheel drive, but still lacks longer EV range.
Volvo announced the introduction of the S60 T8 Twin Engine on the British market, offering the plug-in hybrid version exclusively in R-Design Plus trim level, which is highlighted by “dynamic style and cutting-edge technology”.
The sexy sedan is produced on the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform in Volvo’s new Charleston plant in South Carolina.
Swedish manufacturer says that the 11.6 kWh battery is good enough for up to 36 miles (58 km) of all-electric range, but according to EPA rating it’s rather 22 miles (35.4 km).
The T8 Twin Engine R-Design Plus starts at £49,805 (€54,830/$60,861) on the road in UK, which is £11,870 more than the base, conventional T5 R-Design Plus (£37,935).
Soon the S60 lineup will be expanded with the T8 Polestar Engineered version with even more power (405hp).
