The new Rimac Nevera is the production model for its famed C_Two and is expected to deliver an “unprecedented level of performance”. The new Nevera is capable of hitting 1914hp and can reach speeds of up to 258mph.

However, it’s the cars “out of this world acceleration” which is grabbing the headlines and breaking records.

Rimac claims the car can accelerate from 0-100mph in just over four seconds with the car reaching 186mph in just over nine seconds.

The car is also capable of a record-breaking 8.6 seconds to travel a quarter of a mile.

Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO of ima Automobil said the model will “raise the bar” and “redefine” normal for performance hypercars.

He said: “This is it. This is the car I had in mind when I embarked on the ‘impossible’ journey ten years ago.

“All our hard work has resulted in the Nevera – our record-breaking hypercar.

“This car was born to outperform, and to raise the bar, redefining the norm for performance cars.

“And not only in performance – but as an all-around package.

“When we first revealed the C_Two, we set our targets extremely high.

“There was nothing else that could even come close to matching the car’s cutting-edge electric powertrain and extreme performance. But for us, that was only the starting point.”

Rimac says the car has undergone a “comprehensive raft of changes” since its original C_Two design.

Richard Hammond famously crashed the C_Two when driving it on a hill climb as part of The Grand Tour.

Changes to the bodywork, air diffusers and intakes

Changes to the bodywork, air diffusers and intakes has delivered a 34 percent improvement in efficiency.

The bonnet, diffusers, splitters and radiators have also been refined to improve airflow around the vehicle.

Inlets and cooling channels have been developed to increase cooling efficiency and boost low speeds by 30 percent.

Rimac has also created new innovative aerodynamic elements on the car to help reduce drag and increase performance.

The car will also come fitted with the world;s first AI driving coach to ensure owners can get the most out of the car.

This will evaluate a driver’s performance and provide guidance to enhance performance when the car is on a track.

Rimac has confirmed just 150 of the new cars will be made with prices starting at around £2milion each.

Mr Rimac added: “Everyone at Rimac is driven by curiosity and a desire to push things to the absolute limit.

“With its combination of everyday use and 1914hp performance, the Nevera proves what is possible when there are no restraints placed on technology, development, or ambition.

“We have now unveiled a car that pushes the hypercar market to a higher level, we have utilized the full potential of the electric powertrain today, proving what we’ve always been saying – that electric hypercar, in the form of the Nevera, is beyond exciting, and that is as thrilling on the track, as it is cosseting crossing continents.

“We will be making just 150 examples of the Nevera, every single unit crafted in Croatia from passion and admiration for cars.”
