Ram offers a plethora of options for its 1500 pickup truck. On top of the extras Ram adds at the factory, the brand also offers a massive catalog of parts available to add to your Ram 1500 after taking delivery of the truck. But what happens when Ram rifles through that aforementioned catalog and offers some of its accessory items as part of an optionally available package for the 1500? Well, you get the recipe for the 2022 Ram 1500 G/T.
Adding the G/T kit to a 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel or Laramie (the only trims Ram offers the package on) adds the likes of reworked exhaust pipes, performance pages in the infotainment system, a pair of paddle shifters, and a cold-air intake to the 5.7-liter V-8 engine with Ram’s eTorque “mild-hybrid” system—the sole engine the brand offers with the G/T kit. Although Ram’s keeping quiet on the V-8’s specs in G/T guise, the brand currently rates the engine at 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. We wager those figures will remain the same, although it’s possible the G/T’s minor exhaust and intake updates bring a small bump in power and torque to the engine.
In order to differentiate the G/T from the run-of-the-mill 1500 Laramie and Rebel trims, Ram adds a special “sport performance” hood and “G/T” decals along the truck’s flanks. Additionally, Ram adds G/T logos to the front bucket seats and a set of Mopar all-weather floor mats to so-equipped 1500s.
Look for the 2022 Ram 1500 G/T to go on sale later this year, with the four-door-only (or Crew Cab in Ram-speak) model stickering for $55,070 in Rebel G/T form. Plan on dropping $57,175 to nab a 1500 Laramie G/T.
